I've spent the last 10 years healing my trauma. In the last 10 years, I have owned 3 businesses. One which I had no idea what I was doing. The other I sabotaged into the ground after I left a toxic relationship. 

There were signs that my trauma was showing up in my work & didn't know or realize it all. I wish someone had told me these things. So, I am sharing them with you. As a trauma survivor and a woman, I want you to win! 

Here are 5 Ways Your Trauma is Showing up In your Work & You Didn't Realize it.

  1. You do it ALL! You don't delegate out. You'd rather just do it yourself if no one will do it right or exactly how you want it. This isn't saying don't have standards. You want standards. However, hyper-independence is a trauma response. It's all about knowing when you need help, when to delegate & when to do things yourself. If you're a mom, who's running a business or doing it all? Not asking your partner for help or resisting investing in a babysitter or housekeeper so you can focus on your work/business and family? If so, some beliefs prevent you from being the best version of yourself by calling in this help. 
  2. You let your emotions prevent you from showing up. If you have a trigger, a bad moment, it takes over your whole day & you stew in it. Even if you hold space for yourself, you don't allow yourself to move on from it. This is a sign that you're still holding onto it & the sabotage might be about your fear of being visible. (Oh yeah, Girl! It's not always a mindset thing.) This is normally stage 2 of the healing phase. Where yes, you might have done some healing, but triggers and emotions still take you back. This is part of the process. However, allowing your emotions to hold you back is messing up your work and your business.   3. Not investing in yourself because you've already worked with a coach. I used to think at some point, I would never need a coach or healing again. The reality is there are always blind spots. You will always be the best investment you will ever make. I get it. Investing hundreds or thousands of dollars in yourself is a big deal! Maybe you've invested before and felt you haven't seen any results from your investment. However, you must continue to grow as your work changes and go deeper into your healing. 
  4. Constantly creating rather than mastering your craft. (This one was something I learned a few months ago. The hardest for me to swallow.) If you're constantly creating & moving from one thing to the next, this drains & sabotages your energy. When you master your craft & perfect what you already have, it allows for your creativity to grow & mature. Whereas when you're constantly creating something new, it's always new & the thrill, stress & adrenaline that comes from that. This is a sign of a coping mechanism at play. Esp if you spend hours upon hours preparing for this "new" thing. This is not to say that you can have an inspired idea, but if you're constantly letting go or never coming back to other programs, it's actually a distraction. It's seriously hurting you.
